Maison Berger Paris uses a unique catalytic diffusion system designed to go beyond traditional home fragrancing. Originally developed in 1898 for hospital hygiene, these refills serve a dual purpose: they purify the air by destroying odours at a molecular level while simultaneously diffusing a premium French fragrance.

The Science of Catalysis

Unlike a candle that masks smells, the Maison Berger lamp uses a patented catalytic burner. When the refill liquid (an alcohol-based fragrance) reaches the heated ceramic stone, it creates a chemical reaction that attracts and breaks down malodorous molecules (like cooking, pet, or tobacco smells) instead of just covering them up.

Quick Start Guide: The 20-Minute Ritual

Fill: Pour the fragrance into your lamp until it is 1/3 full. (What you put in will evaporate if you do not cap the lamp, when your done diffusing)
Soak: Insert the wick and burner. Place the solid snuffer cap on and let it soak for 10 minutes.
Light: Remove the cap and light the burner with a flame. Let it burn for 2 minutes.
Blow Out: Blow out the flame. The stone will remain hot, continuing to work without an open flame.
Purify: Place the decorative vented cap on. Let it run for 20–30 minutes to treat an average-sized room.
Stop: To finish, replace the solid snuffer cap. This stops the process and prevents the fragrance from evaporating.
