In the late 1990s, the cigar boom was in full swing, and mild cigars dominated the market. Litto Gomez, the founder of La Flor Dominicana, wanted to create something different. He envisioned a cigar that was bold, flavorful, and distinctively shaped. Introduced in 1997, El Jocko was one of LFD’s earliest hits. It proved that premium cigars did not have to be mild to be successful.
The cigar is named after a close friend of Litto Gomez, nicknamed “Jocko.” It represents the spirit of innovation and defiance that defines the LFD brand. Decades after its release, El Jocko remains a cult favorite among seasoned smokers who appreciate old-school blending artistry.
